The Scarlet Pimpernel Meets Shakespeare

They seek him here...
they seek him there...
those...
...Thespians seek me EVERYWHERE!
Be I in heaven though I be in hell,
My Shakespeare's just met the Pimpernel!

And that, my dear friends and constituency, is what directing a play your final year of uni will lead you to. Insanity.

But... a good insanity nonetheless, and the show must go on!

It's frightening to believe this is our very last week of rehearsals. Terror and Fear strike, but thankfully, excitement is weighing those out. We have a fantastic cast that we have delighted in directing, and our costumes are mostly finished being sewn and altered, and our set will be finished by the end of next week. Posters are up, tickets are being requested already from across the state, and t-shirts are being ordered. Brochures (Programs) are being written up and designed and prepared for printing along with the tickets... and the Shakespeare Players are on a roll!

Moreover, not only have we so few days left before performances (the which we have four of), but we also have only 2.5 weeks left of classes before exams strike!

Heaven help us all!

Seasons May Change...

November arrived.
I've been denying it a while now; denied its coming and denied its eventual arrival, yet here I am, admitting it.
November at last; November in finality.
And today it snowed the first time.

I had forgotten how beautiful the snowflakes are, floating in the air or blowing furiously from the dark, heavy clouds.
Winter?
Brr.

We have only 3.5 weeks of classes left (with a short break in the middle) before exam week, and after that: freedom--also known as Christmas holiday. It is exciting and terrifying all at once. There is so much to do and have done before then! Classwork, papers, research, applications, and two plays!

(Plus a promisingly delightful trip to NYC, friends visiting, Thanksgiving break, more friends, and iceskating on city squares.)
